No animal testing companies (Drugstore, Department Store, and Common Beauty Brands)

"Ever occur to you why some of us can be this much concerned with animal suffering? Because government is not. Why not? Animals don't vote." - Paul Harvey

I'm not an expert at choosing beauty and skincare product most the time since I'm usually lured by the packaging, smell, price, claims and promises, advertisement, etc. I'm sure most of us don't think of animal tested products when we purchase products online or in stores. So out of curiosity, I wanted to make a list of common brands that we use daily that do or do not test on animals. You may not find all brands listed here. I'm listing well-known ones and commonly used brands. For a more detailed list, please visit www.peta.org. That's where I will be sourcing my list. Many mainstream brands that we see in stores that are under L'Oreal, Proctor and Gamble(P&G) or Johnson & Johnson(J&J) DOES animal testing. Companies are listed under animal testing because they have not completely ban animal testing practices. They might not animal test all products, but they still do to some. The ones on the do not test list means they ensure that they don't conduct any kind of animal testing on their products. There might be other companies that do not do animal testing, but did not sign to be under their list.

Personally, I'm not a vegetarian or vegan, but I believe animals shouldn't suffer for unnecessary reasons like animal testing. I try to use organic and natural products as much as I can. I do look at ingredients when I buy things in store or online. Sometimes I might not know all the ingredients as a lot of our products are made of synthetic chemicals and additives. I do try to be more conscious on what I buy, who these companies are and their philosophies behind it. Research and buy from companies you trust. I just wish we didn't have to worry if a product is free of animal cruelty on top of worry about paraben-free, mineral oil free, and etc on our daily products. I hope this list and topic is helpful to you.

"Cruelty is one fashion statement we can all do without. - Rue McClanahan
