L'Oreal Scrublet and Daiso Cleansing Pad

Description from L'Oreal: Scrublet, a super-soft, flexible cleansing disc that applies the collections cleansers with 500 extra-supple touch points that gently glide across the skin, activating the cleanser formulas on contact, creating a hi-foaming lather. This rich lather goes very deep into pores, unclogging them, and gently removing traces of dirt, oil and makeup in every last pore, crease and crevice. Price: $6.99 with cleanser Daiso Cleansing Pad (Price: $1.50) This one works the same as L'Oreal, The pointed teardrop design fits the form of the nose. Made of silicone rubber. The Daiso one isn't as soft as the silicone on L'oreal. It's firmer and it is made of mini round dots on the cleansing pad which is quite gentle. However, the back is hard to grip between my fingers since it's so small. It can easily slip off my hands when I have face cleanser on it. Warning from the Daiso cleansing pad:  Discontinue use if your skin is sensitive, weak, s...

No animal testing companies (Drugstore, Department Store, and Common Beauty Brands)

"Ever occur to you why some of us can be this much concerned with animal suffering? Because government is not. Why not? Animals don't vote." - Paul Harvey I'm not an expert at choosing beauty and skincare product most the time since I'm usually lured by the packaging, smell, price, claims and promises, advertisement, etc. I'm sure most of us don't think of animal tested products when we purchase products online or in stores. So out of curiosity, I wanted to make a list of common brands that we use daily that do or do not test on animals. You may not find all brands listed here. I'm listing well-known ones and commonly used brands. For a more detailed list, please visit  www.peta.org . That's where I will be sourcing my list. Many mainstream brands that we see in stores that are under L'Oreal, Proctor and Gamble(P&G) or Johnson & Johnson(J&J) DOES animal testing. Companies are listed under animal testing because they have not c...

Out of Africa Unrefined Shea Butter Skin Results

Here are my results and thoughts of Out of Africa Unrefined Shea Butter. You may read my review on what this product is  here . I was researching on natural essential oils and body butters to find a natural and organic way to heal my dermatitis or eczema skin which I started developing 4 years ago when I started working at my last job. I was exposed to a lot of dust, germs, and bacteria in the store I was working in. Sweating did not make it any better because my neck have a few patches that got bigger from sweat irritations and from my uncontrollable scratching. I seriously tried so many ways to make it heal but it was not permenant. The doctor prescribed me medication that did not heal it but controlled the itchiness. I tried hydro-cortisone, ointments, neosporin, lotions, creams, coconut oil, jojoba oil, Egyptian Magic, a healthier and organic diet etc. Nothing seem to help it heal. The patch on my arm started healing after I quit, but it left some pigmentation and ...

Laura Mercier Mineral Powder SPF 15

Description from Sephora: A finely milled powder composed completely of natural elements with 15 active amino acids. What it is formulated to do: Helps clear the skin of toxins, promotes healthy skin cell growth, and fights the aging process. Oil-free and water-resistant, it can be applied either as a buildable foundation or a pigmented powder. Natural Beige (peach beige/ for fair to medium skin tones)  After searching for a better mineral foundation over the years, I have settled to Laura Mercier. Although, I do like the Bare Escentuals Matte for the bismuth free formula. I prefer to have a bit of a glow to my skin which Laura Mercier provides. For some reason, the bismuth oxychloride in LM mineral powder does not irritate my skin like BE original glow formula does. I sweat with LM on my face and it does not even make my skin itch. I do get mild oiliness mid-day, but not a big deal as it holds up fairly well. Sometimes it seem to make my skin look dewy as the day goes by. Th...
