H2O Plus Face Oasis Cleansing Water

I got this as a part of a skincare set. I was quite disappointed when I first tried it out. It's basically water with cleansing properties to it. When you pump it on your hands, some product might slip through the crack of your fingers. You probably lose less product if you use a sponge to lather up. Something like Eco Tools cellulose sponge would work better with it. Don't expect this to clean your skin fully if you have makeup on. It can be part of a two step cleansing. I pump this onto a cotton pad and wipe most of my makeup off with this. Then I continue with another face cleanser. It could be a light cleanser for the morning since you shouldn't have much to wash off in the morning.

Description from H2O:
A water-light oil-free cleanser infused with hydrating marine algae to gently wash away impurities while softening skin with provitamin B, moisturizing marine botanicals and Sea Mineral Complex

An ultra-foaming, oil-free liquid infused with hydrating marine algae to break down and float away make-up and dulling impurities while softening skin. This technologically advanced formula water activates to break down make-up and impurities while maintaining skin's natural moisture balance. Leaves skin feeling quenched and revitalized with no residue left behind.

Usage: Pump a small amount into palm. Add water and work into a lather. Massage over damp face and neck. Rinse.

Tips: Use to gently cleanse makeup applicators without damaging bristles or deteriorating sponges. (Don't like the cleanser. Use it as a makeup brush cleanser)

Pros:

  • Smells like the sea. It might smell unpleasant to some people but I find it kind of pleasant after a while.
  • Great for removing makeup. (Pump some cleanser onto a cotton pad and swipe around face to remove makeup. I find this way the most effective and I lose less product). Then continue cleansing with your regular cleanser.
  • Another way to use this is pump the product onto a cleansing sponge and lather before applying around your face. Like Eco Tools - Cellulose Facial Sponges or Face Secrets Professional Red Makeup Sponges from Sally's Beauty. I use the Sallys one but it's a bit rougher but it works well lathering up and lightly exfoliate your skin.
  • Doesn't irritate and feel harsh on the skin.
  • Oil-free and non-drying. It helps retain your skin's natural moisture like it claims. Balances the skin out.
  • Great alternative as a makeup remover. Very gentle, but must be careful around the eye area. It breaks down makeup easily.
Cons:

  • Pricey
  • Does not lather very well. Don't expect it to foam up a lot.
  • Easy to lose some of the product
  • Hard to control the watery liquid
  • Must clean with an additional cleanser if you have makeup on.
Price: $24

Repurchase? Don't think so unless it comes with a kit. Considering the price and the amount of product lost. I would go with a different cleanser. It would be a good alternative as a makeup remover.
